Cindy Anderson loves everything French and loves writing about it, too. Cindy began her French studies in ninth grade for two reasons - she liked the way the language sounded, and she liked the sophisticated culture that was associated with France.
Now, Cindy shares her love of French with young people by writing middle grade adventures. Her novels take place in French speaking countries and are interwoven with interesting vignettes of French culture and history. It is her hope that you will love la Francophonie as well. (La Francophonie = the French speaking world).

Brianna Dubois’s eleventh birthday is in seven days, and her typical summer is about to change when she receives a vintage suitcase in the mail from Mamie, her French grandmother. Brianna discovers she will be traveling to Paris by herself to visit Mamie for a week, and when she lands in Paris, she must face one of her biggest fears.

Brianna’s adventure in Paris begins at the Opéra de Paris, the former Opera House of Paris, which is now where the Paris Ballet performs. It is here that Brianna discovers a surprising detail about her parents’ lives.
